AAAA Consulting served as a subconsultant to IEI, supporting the AECOM team by providing resident engineering and construction inspection services for the 28th Street Electrical Substation Project. The project involved the construction of a new electrical substation facility to enhance the reliability, capacity, and resiliency of the New York City Transit power distribution system and support continued subway operations.

Our team provided on-site construction oversight, resident engineering, field inspection, quality assurance, contract compliance monitoring, review of contractor activities, progress documentation, and coordination with MTA, contractors, design teams, and other project stakeholders. The project included installation of electrical power systems, traction power equipment, building systems, utility connections, communications and control systems, testing, commissioning, and final project closeout activities.

Through effective field coordination and quality management, AAAA Consulting supported the successful delivery of this critical transit infrastructure improvement project, helping ensure the work was completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements, approved plans, specifications, and MTA standards.
