Project Scope

Queens Boulevard Line East CBTC – MTA NYCT

Provided resident engineering and field inspection support for the CBTC modernization eastward toward Jamaica–179 St, covering the eastern portion of the Queens Boulevard Line. MTA currently describes this as the remaining QBL CBTC rollout between Kew Gardens–Union Turnpike and Jamaica–179 St.

The project included modernization of signal and interlocking systems, installation of new CBTC equipment, construction of new signal facilities, wayside equipment installation, communications infrastructure upgrades, testing and commissioning activities, and integration with existing transit operations. 

Inspection Services Provided:
• Resident engineering and field inspection services
• Construction progress monitoring and coordination
• Quality assurance and contract compliance oversight
• Review of contractor activities, submittals, and documentation
• Coordination among MTA, contractors, design teams, and stakeholders
• Support for testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities
